Kenneth Lynn Shows Kenneth Lynn Shows, 79, of Petal, Miss, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 20, at Serenity Funeral Services from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Ken was a son, brother, husband, father, sailor, and most importantly Pawpaw. After 24 years of honorable service to his country as a Radioman and achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer, he retired from the U.S. Navy in 1987, and then began his second career as an HVAC technician. In 1997, Ken continued working until his second retirement in 2010. Throughout his careers and retirement, he was dedicated to his family and treasured time spent with children and grandchildren. Ken spent the beginning of retirement finding time to fish or go camping with family and friends. He believed no pond was too small, nor lake too big for him to find where the bass were hiding. He managed to keep the flowerbeds full of blooms each year for his wife, Barbara, and found peace in his yard work. His latter retirement years were filled with the joy of grandchildren; Ken was happiest and took the greatest pride in being called Pawpaw. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pascal and Eunice Shows; his sister, Patsy Lee; and two daughters, Tracey Shows and Nicole Stewart. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Shows; three children, Kenneth Shows, Jr., Deana Shows, and Alyce Stewart; six grandchildren, Brandon, Avery, Sydnee, Alexis, Kalysta, and Eden; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
