Curtis Ray Carter

Curtis Ray Carter was born November 21, 1969 to the late Doree Carter Hinton and Edward Hinton of Hattiesburg, Ms. He departed this life on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Curtis was preceded in death by his mother, Doree Carter Hinton, his father, Edward Hinton , his son, Curtis Ray Carter Jr , and grandmother, Jesse Lee Carter. Curtis graduated from Perry Central High School in 1989. He worked for Delks Tires from 1990-2008 and Southern Tire Mart from 2008 until his health failed in 2023. Curtis accepted Christ at an early age and later became a member of Plymouth Rock Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, MS. He was an avid Tennessee Titan fan and a Florida State Seminoles fan. Curtis met his wife, Songe , in 2003. They later married on May 7, 2016. Curtis leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Songe’ Carter; four children: Courtney Jackson ( Hattiesburg, MS), Kirsty Carter-Thompson (Miasia) (Dallas, TX), Devonte Dixon (Hattiesburg, MS) and Mercedez Ulmer- Carter (Hattiesburg, MS); Four grandchildren: Kirstence ,Levi, Aidan, and Kyson; and one godson. He also leaves one great Aunt, a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, in laws, family and friends.
